During my senior year of high school, I had the privilege of joining my small school's class on Composition versus the traditional Senior English class. I still remember Mrs. Lohrman's assignments, from projects on famous women of the 1900s to ostracized historical figures. Looking back, I'd wager my choices of Eva Braun (Adolf Hitler's mistress) and Oscar Wilde (imprisoned for gross indecency) should have been red flags, but bless that woman for rolling with it!
I digress... but I needed to tie in my love for Oscar Wilde's pithy quotes.
My advanced education began at Purdue's College of Liberal Arts, where I majored in Communication. After spending my freshman and sophomore years bored to tears, I elected to change direction. Two years later, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, with an unofficial minor in Sociology. I enjoy reading, writing, and learning how people think and behave, making it an easy transition. Plus, I wasn't required to take additional math classes (huge bonus). Upon graduation, I moved back to my hometown, unsure where life was headed. Without any experience, I managed to land a role within my town's veterinary clinic, where I discovered veterinary medicine had careers beyond "doctor." Fast forward a year; I was back at Purdue majoring in Veterinary Technology. Those 18 months leading up to graduation were difficult yet filled with some of the best moments of my life.
Now, a semi-professional adult having experienced a variety of careers, I have found two things I truly love: cats and writing. While I am still holding out for a well-paying role as an experienced cat entertainer/snuggle-buddy, I have happily settled in as a content writer and copy creator. You will find I most enjoy a writing style incorporating humor with an emotional pull. There is no better way to engage an audience than with a smile, giggle, and/or snort. This ability to connect at a human level will create a lasting impression for your consumers, generating action and growth.
My goal is to utilize my way with words to help you connect with your audience. Whether creating content that is able to both educate and engage, learning your voice to craft blog and social media posts, or constructing e-mail sequences that will leave readers wanting more, I am here to add complementary words to your message.
